Key Features and Enhancements of IEC 61850 Server Simulator

The main window is your central hub for loading CID, ICD, SCD, or IID files. It features a tree view to help you navigate and manage Data Sets, Control Blocks, Data Objects, and Data Attributes. The connection panel displays all connected clients and their subscribed Report Controls, offering real-time insights into server operations.

Group View enables monitoring of selected Data Attributes in a single window. You can create multiple Group Views, drag and drop elements, and edit attributes directly. This feature is ideal for tracking changes in animation or attribute values efficiently.

The Predefined Values Editor displays configured data attributes for Logical Nodes and Data Objects in a tabular format. Users can easily modify these values by interacting with editable fields, ensuring quick updates and efficient management.

With the IEC 61850 Server Simulator you can manage non-client IED servers through the Server Management interface. Set local IP addresses and TCP ports, start or stop servers, and monitor connection statuses. This feature is essential for maintaining and configuring IED server operations.

Access the Server Configuration Window to manage server settings, including local IP addresses, TCP ports, server identity, report buffer sizes, and file services. This comprehensive tool ensures all server parameters are optimally configured.

Automate various data attributes using the Automation Configuration interface. Set alternation times and values, manage automation settings, and streamline processes for data attributes like Enumerated, Boolean, Float, and Integer types.

Double-click on Report Controls in the IED tree to view and edit server report parameters. This feature is vital for maintaining accurate reporting and ensuring all changes are monitored and managed effectively.

The Goose Configuration window allows users to view and edit GSE control parameters. This interface supports the configuration of critical parameters, ensuring the Goose protocol operates efficiently within the simulation environment.

Configure client write access to specific data attributes through the Write Access Configuration interface. This feature provides granular control over which attributes can be modified, enhancing security and management.

The IEC 61850 Server Simulator provides additional features:

  • Turn On/Off Update Animation: Toggle attribute change animations.
  • Turn On/Off Mod/Beh Behavior: Manage client response access.
  • Automatically Update Time Stamp: Control automatic timestamp updates.
  • Log Message For Report Create: Manage log visibility for report creation.
  • Use Local Time: Switch between local and UTC time.
  • Save Configuration Settings: Save server configurations to an XML file.
  • Load Configuration Settings: Load pre-defined settings from XML files for quick setup.
  • API Integration: Use the Rest API via Swagger for extended functionality and network communication.

Configure client write access to specific data attributes through the Write Access Configuration interface. This feature provides granular control over which attributes can be modified, enhancing security and management.

The Log Messages section captures all changes in values or status, allowing users to copy, delete, or save these messages to a file. This feature ensures that all actions and changes are well-documented for future reference.
